Wrongplanet.net’s host INetU has responded favorably to my DMCA takedown request I filed two days ago. At this point legally INetU is instructing Alex Plank to remove the offending materials from his website in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act in a reasonable time. Most courts see a reasonable time to be 24 hours. At 9:16 AM yesterday morning INetU contacted me stating that they had been in contact with Alex Plank.
Whats Next?
If Alex Plank does not remove the offending material INetU will be forced to disable access to the material. In a dedicated server setting like wrongplanet is hosted at this usually means shutting down access to the webserver – thus disabling wrongplanet.net.
Alex Plank right now has the opportunity to remove the material and file a counter notice with his host. If he files a counter notice the offending material must stay down for 14 days while I file a case in court. If I do not file a case in 14 days he may again show the material.
What Has Alex Plank’s Responce been?
Not only has Alex Plank said I’m “Full of sh**” but he has also indicated he has no intentions of removing the offending material stating he has principals. Apparently Alex Plank’s “principals” make him believe he is above the law.
