What was one of the best support websites online for people with Aspergers has frankly turned into an embarrassment to the human race. Wrongplanet.net is filled with so many people who think they are better then everyone else, that people with Aspergers are better then NT’s (what people on the autism spectrum call people not on the Autism Spectrum). Its just getting sickening.
I went on there and started a thread announcing that I am going to be giving 25% of my blogs proceeds to either Autism Women’s Network, Autism Self Advocacy Network or Wrongplanet and frankly two or three users turn it into a middle school cafeteria starting boatloads of drama making baseless accusations.
I announced then I was going to remove them from the contest because I don’t feel right supporting a website that has frankly turned into a safe harbor for all sorts of internet crap. After reading one users post encouraging me to reconsider and that a few trolls don’t reflect the majority of the user base I decided to do just that and had infact changed my mind and was going to write a nice forum post announcing that until…..

Seriously its behavior like this that frankly makes me ashamed to say I have Aspergers. And whats worse is this behavior has become rampant on Wrongplanet and is now the accepted norm there. This is what used to be a great support website, in fact one that I would of recommended to friends of mine to help understand me is now frankly no better then 4chan.
It is with regret I state that wrongplanet.net will not be in the running for this months contest. I do not feel it is proper to support a website that claims to be a support website for people with Aspergers and Autism that has turned into a collection of behavior that would embarrass any human being. Its my hope that Alex Plank will try and clean his website up into the support community it once was. I guess this is what you get for trying to be nice.
