So I’ve been under attack by some trolls on the internet lately that I only blog for profit. Thats not true. I do not make much on this blog each month, and have never broken $100 a month yet. Apparently offering to give money back to the Autism Community has been perceived as a threat by Alex Plank and his followers for offering to give wrongplanet.net some money.
This resulted in users of Wrongplanet copying and pasting entire blog posts from my blog to theirs in blatant violation of my rights as a writer. It also resulted in their users threatening to send me computer viruses (which is a felony) and them banning me. I would note that the user who committed a felony on their forum is continuing to attack people, even the moderators.
If I wanted to make money blogging I would blog about Personal Injury Lawsuits, Mesothelioma, auto insurance, equity loans, and Lasik. All these things pay over $10 a click often. But I don’t blog about those things because I don’t care about those things.
WHY?
I blog about Aspergers and Autism because its something I’m passionate about. I blogged for over two years often making less than $10 a month off from revenue. Now that I’m getting near the 100,000 unique visitors a month Alex Plank is feeling threatened because I often disagree with his thoughts. Hes upset that I’m becoming a powerful resource for those with Aspergers, Autism and the people who care about them.
I do this because I care. I have started answering questions that readers write in asking, I have delt with attacks from the likes of John Best Jr., threats to be sent viruses, and even legal attacks from Autism Speaks to bully me into shutting up. I don’t do this for money. I do this because I’m passionate about it and care.
But It May Stop
After recent attacks from some drama llama riders on wrong planet I have decided that I am going to investigate shutting down AspieWeb. I feel that the personal attacks and threats against me which cause deterioration of my well being are no longer worth the value that this blog has to the Autism Community.

People are going to make judgements about you when you rock the boat. I had to accept this a long time ago. There is no reason to give in to or even listen to these people. They don’t know you! They know nothing about you! They can speculate all that they want! Your readers know the truth, and you are an invaluable help to many people. Myself included! You provide a safe haven to talk and you are open minded which is extremely rare and it would be a horrible thing to loose. I am sorry for your troubles. If I were you, I would look up my state cyber laws and see if they are allowed to get away with such harassment.
I would never claim you blog for money, if this site makes any money at all I’d be amazed.
I am stating here and now for the record, I dont believe you blog for money. I think you blog to vent your frustrations and complain a lot, but that has nothing to do with whether its for money or not.
You giving money to AWN/ASAN, or both is fine. In fact, your contribution is better spent there in a lot of ways than wrong planet anyways, and I commend you for your efforts to make a contribution.
If people from wrongplanet are indeed harassing you, I would like to know who, and I would like logs, and I would like IP addresses and when it occurred. Until then, after telling everyone on your blog that alex and I posted porn and viruses I don’t have a choice but to be skeptical of your claims.
