Dr. Novella, an academic clinical neurologist at Yale University School of Medicine made a great exploration on why the myth ‘Vaccines Cause Autism’ is still around and how it results in suffering and deaths of Autistic People.
In NeroLogica, Dr. Novella explores the reasons that myths regarding vaccinations causing autism are still around - and even gaining more popularity. In it he explores the reasons that both parents and the medical community further this myth.
In it he gives one big reason:
there are labs that are happy to make money by providing worthless clinical tests to support the quack notion of the month. They either use tests that have not been validated, or that are virtually designed to provide false positive results.
it includes lawyers who are happy to make money off the whole thing
journalists who are happy to make a career out of hysterically misinforming the public
So, a doctor finally stands up and says what is really the source of this myth, personal and monetary gain. Yes people are low enough to cause huge myths that cause countless people suffering, pain and even death for personal gain.
But what really upsets me is some of these outside labs who do testing for mercury attempting to prove that mercury causes Autism this doctor caught using tests that are designed to produce in a false positive, he writes
Standard blood tests were negative, but this outside lab found a significantly positive result. I looked over the lab report and found that it was a “provoked” urine test for lead and mercury. “Provoked” means that prior to collective the urine a chelating agent was given to draw lead and mercury out of the tissue so that it could be excreted in the urine. However, at the bottom of the lab sheet was a small disclaimer admitting that the reference range was based upon normal values for an unprovoked urine level (which should be much smaller than a provoked level). In other words - this test was worthless, and worse it was designed to produce a false positive test. And yet the patient was being chelated to treat the fake diagnosis made by using an invalid test, while the valid test was negative.
And then he goes on to explain why parents and families go on to subscribe to this myth that ‘Mercury Causes Autism’
parents, reasonably and lovingly wanting to do everything they can for their child, apparently became caught in the web of misinformation claiming that autism is associated with mercury poisoning
So the reason is pretty simple - it gives parents hope.

The link was established between the MMR vaccine and Autism. Mercury has NEVER been in the MMR vaccine, as it is a LIVE VIRUS vaccine. Mercury will kill live viruses.
What you need to look at is the fact that Aluminum causes Autism, not mercury.
Aluminum is a well known, documented neurotoxin that destroys the Central Nervous System and wreaks havoc on the developing brain and other major organs.

Actually no link has been established between autism and MMR (a vaccine that has been in use in the USA since 1971). The only study that claimed to show a link was bought and paid for by a lawyer, who supplied the dozen children were were scoped (including one who suffers permanent damage from the dozen bowel perforations).
Can you please show the studies that show aluminum to cause autism? Or that vaccines cause autism? Or that the vaccines are more dangerous than the actual diseases?
For example, if MMR is causing autism show us:
1) the journal paper that shows the link
2) that it does it in numbers greater than the known risks of measles, mumps and rubella (about 6% of measles cases end up in the hospital with pneumonia, and a about 1 in 1000 die from measles), then mumps is known to cause sterility in mean, and in about 1 in 10000 become deaf (though in the 2006 mumps outbreak in the American Midwest at four became deaf of the 3000 cases, a much higher ratio).
