Over the last few days I have been overwhelmed with a lot of support, immature idiots and people asking what they can do to help. Well read more while I address these.
First of all I would like to thank the people who have been very supportive of this, particuarly Kelly Becker - the last autistic person attacked by Autism Speaks. She has offered me a great amount of support and information over the phone.
I would also like thank Wrongplanet, Amanda Baggs, and many, many others all of which I can’t name who provided links to this story so the public could know.
So, as I’m sure a lot of other people are wondering - what can you do to help?
- Write a well thought out and polite letter to Zazzle pointing out that I am not infringing on Autism Speaks’ trademarks
- Send a link to AspieWeb to friends, family, teachers, neighbors and the gas station attendant - get the word out!
- Use social networking websites such as Digg, post on Autism and advocacy related facebook groups and other social networking things.
- Talk about this on Autism related forums online - make other Autistic People Aware!
- Tell your local news stations, radio stations, newspapers, or even write editorials for your local newspaper/school newspaper.
- Blog about this!
But please do not post and write impolite letters, as this reflects on all of us and me as well - and it also proves the point that Autism Speaks is trying to make. I’ve already had to deal with one of these idiots and it resulted in me wanting to take down the site. If I get another person like Grumpy Old Rossco from AspiesForFreedomwho wants to be impolite I’m going to get very upset. I don’t have the time do deal with immature whiny brats.

Hi Zach,
Please don’t get discouraged. Keep up the good work. AspieWeb is a great site! Thanks.
I’ve blogged, Zach. Hope it’s what you wanted and not too negative. If I have time I’ll email Zazzle as well.
Don’t take your website down on account of certainly Rossco - he’s a cheap bully and always has been. The fact that he is tolerated and actually liked at AFF says a lot about the direction that site is taking now.
There are a number of people who insist that we fit in with the neurotypical world. No one has the right to insist on that. You have the right to be you. An ASD person, and proud to be so as well! There’s nothing wrong with it. Keep punching, Zach! Don’t let the bullies win!
