The Baby Decision

Well Katelyn has made her decision regarding what to do with our child.Last week I told her I would agree to the decision of adoption, but Friday she informed me she was struggling if she would be able to let go.  I told her I struggled with that as well, and told her because she was adopted she would know best what the child would go through – not I in that manner.  I told her I would yield to her decision on this matter.

And The Decision Is

Well I’m not going to tell you.  You see Katelyn has a blog too, and I feel this would be a perfect opportunity to plug her blog and force you to go read it.  By the way she seems a bit pushy about wanting comments too – so I would leave one while your at it.  Remember, shes pregnant – so if shes says leave comments I would not mess with her!  Now go read her blog( and leave a comment!)

Congratulations! You’re going to be a father. ;-) It’s a truly wonderful thing. There’s no way to really be prepared for how utterly it changes your life, but that’s not something to be scared of. When you first hold your child in your hands and look into those big eyes, or see their tiny little fingers curled around your own finger…. You fall in love in a way very different from your relationship with your significant other. It doesn’t replace that love. It adds to it. Just don’t forget to make time for yourselves, and remember to keep some romance in your lives. ;-) There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. And kids are resilient. Make sure their needs are taken care of, but don’t sweat the small stuff. They’ll know what’s important. ;-)

Zach,

Per your (and Katelyn’s) instructions I have left my main comment on her blog.

Congratulations to you both. Now, the hard work begins.

Best,

Aulë

Well done Zach.

The news is good.

The road ahead is a difficult one – I won’t kid you there. It’s difficult but it’s rewarding. Just note down in your diary a point about 18 months from now…

Say… STOP. Look at your relationship. Leave the baby with someone and go spend some time together.

You’re going to need it then.

Well, I read Katelyn’s blog first and commented on there.

It’s good that you listened to Katelyn and her feelings. Yes, she probably would know best about how it might feel to be adopted.

It’s all been dramatic and tumutulous the last few months.
