The Aspergers Devil Author Is Upset?

So it seems the author of Life With an Angel and a Fight With the Judy Creel, or her publisher is rather upset with me about a negative review I gave her book title a while back.

Looking over the recent comments being posted to AspieWeb I noticed an interesting pattern over the last few days.  Comments were being posted to the article in which I expressed my thoughts on the poor taste of the title of her book.

Within the last three days four comments were posted to the article, one in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS (which is considered extremely rude).  All these people used actual names (I don’t know if they are real or not), compared to aliases which are used by most other people.

So I decided to take a look at what seach terms people were using to find my website, and I found that there were more then twenty hits just yesterday by people searching Judy Creel’s book ‘Life with an Angel and a Fight with the Devil‘.  Maybe its nothing but I thought it was a very interesting statistic.

I would like to open this up to readers, what are your thoughts on this?  Could it be the books publisher or author?  Could it be someone connected to the book in anyway?  I’m very curious about this.

Okay, it’s a dumb title. (I’ve never before seen a review of a title.)

That said, maybe you need to rethink your approach here. I read your “review” and the comments attached. And I took a quick look at the book’s website. It appears that the “devil” referred to in the title is cancer — not AS.

Now, I don’t intend to buy the book. In fact, based on the excerpt I read, it doesn’t look that interesting. But I should emphasize: I have not read the book.

Neither have you.

And yet you seem to have jumped to conclusions about the book based solely on its title.

Sometimes people make judgements about other people based on nothing more than a label. I’m guessing you don’t like it when that happens to you.

Possibly the author or the publisher. (btw Navi is my real name ;D)

It also could be because the book was publicized recently.

Norman seems to be the only reasonable comment that disagrees. The others are assuming you aren’t a Christian, without knowing. People like this drive me nuts. The only book that one needs to ‘put Jesus Christ first’ while reading is the bible, if one is a Christian. To suggest that you need to have influence of the holy spirit while reading would suggest that they believe the spirit lead her to write this book. Which, well, I guess they’re welcome to believe, but there’s nothing that says I have to fall down and follow every other Christian’s writing that I know of, to be a Christian. If she intended the ‘fight with the devil’ to be something other than aspergers, perhaps a subtitle would have been appropriate, since the book is obviously about her life living with her son, and the opposite of the devil is her son, the ANGEL, in the title. However, if the book were about fighting for services for her son, then I’d call the devil the system. And again, a subtitle would be appropriate, to avoid offense.

I don’t think there’s any need to be paranoid about this. It’s very common for people who read a book or hear about it to be interested in other opinions. If they do a Google search and your post comes up, they may choose to take a look at it. Unless some of the comments are abusive, I wouldn’t worry about it. I doubt that any reputable publisher would send people around to check up on blog posts or articles. If the author is upset, that’s her problem, not yours.

The journey through life can be a difficult road. But with faith and love, anything can be possible…

Know an inspiring true story about a woman who would not give up on her son, and her steadfast faith in God, in Judy V. Creel’s Life with an Angel and a Fight with the Devil.

TRUE STORY THIS IS NOT!!
This book is full of lies. This Judy Creel fails to mention that the nosy neighbor
“Sarah” was her 85 year old aunt that had alzheimers disease. She certainly didn’t have to introduce herself since Judy knew her all her life. Also, she makes out like that house hadn’t been lived in since 1935. My great-aunt lived in that house all my life and after she died, my cousin John lived in that house and probably in the 80′s my aunt lived in that house. And I even know where the water meter was. Also, any Christian would NEVER say that God told them not to pray for someone. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. “Sarah” never rammed any fence with her car. No deputy had to hold her back and pull a gun on her. Her son was NOT convicted of murdering his wife. This is just a few of the lies in this book. This woman should be very very ashamed of herself and very careful when she speaks of God’s vengeance. Her husband Norman made the last days of Sarah’s life miserable. He was a mean old man that cussed Sarah’s grandchildren when they were there visiting if they got too close to his fence. I know of one incident where he called her 11 year old grandson a motherf*****. That does NOT sound very Christian to me.
But unlike her, I will pray for her because it is obvious that she has serious problems.

Julie was not there to see that 300 plus pound woman that Judy had not seen since she was about 10 years old roll out of her car and waddle up to the house and introduce herself as Sarah, Judy’s aunt by marriage. Who would recognize a distant relative after such a long time and one who had changed so much over the years. Sarah’s son certainly is serving a life sentence in a federal pen for murdering his wife. Steve wrote Judy a letter when he heard we had bought his grandfather’s house. I wish this Julie would have been there to show the water company workers where the water meter was because they could not find it, anyway the water from a deep well was better. This unenlightened person is just trying to strike out at a good book about a loving and caring mother raising her Asperger son. Her grandmother did do all the things that are in the book. If you read the book you will see that there is not that much about Sarah and her granddaughter certainly has one of her traits and that is to lie and slander a person’s name as far and wide as she can. Sarah had a lot of problems, but I don’t believe a person with Alzheimer is as vindictive and aggressive as she was. I have never seen a young grandson of Sarah and certainly did curse ANYONE as she has accused me of. The book is an inspirational true story and covers the trials and adventures of raising a son that is on the high end of the autistic spectrum. He is very intelligent and gifted in many ways as Aspergers or Savants are. Judy was inspired by the movie “The Rain Man” Read the book yourself to see the truth and don’t concentrate on that small and somewhat insignificant part about Sarah and the relatively short time we were in that house.

I AM MOST CERTAINLY NOT A LIAR. IF YOU POST ANOTHER COMMENT WITH DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT ME I WILL SUE YOU FOR SLANDER. YOU SHOULD BE SUED FOR ALL THE LIES IN YOUR BOOK. STEVE IS MOST DEFINATELY NOT IN PRISON FOR MURDER. THAT IS A LIE. MY GRANDMOTHER DID NOT DO ALL THE THINGS YOU SAID. YOU MOST CERTAINLY CUSSED MY SON. I WAS THERE AND I KNOW. YOU ARE A TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PERSON AND WE HAVE WITNESSES OF YOU COMING AROUND MY GRANDMOTHER’S HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT MANY TIMES. NORMAN, I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU AND JUDY AND I WILL PRAY FOR YOU. BUT YOU WILL NOT CALL ME A LIAR AGAIN. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL HEAR FROM MY ATTORNEY.

AND FOR THE RECORD, NORMAN DID NOT ONLY CUSS MY 11 YEAR OLD SON, HE CUSSED ANOTHER GRANDSON ALSO. HE ACTUALLY CUSSED A LOT OF PEOPLE, INCLUDING MY MOTHER AND MY AUNT.
