Another Case Of Teacher Abuse

In Miami Lakes Florida special education teacher Sylvia Tagle was found guilty of abusing a special education autistic student – and has been sentenced to only two years probation. According to the Palm beach post Tagle gave an autistic student a soda filled with hot sauce in order to teach the student a lesson.  Allegedly the student took a soda from her desk while she was attending to other students earlier in the day.

Tagle was also charged with other counts of abuse for not changing soiled diapers of students, pulling a students hair – but was found not guilty.

In a statement to make this person sound like a horrible person she made a statement

“I love all my autistic children,  That’s why I’ve done it for so many years. It’s not an easy task but I love doing it. And whatever happened was not done intentionally.”

So the hot sauce was accidentally opened and put in into the Soda, and then handed to a boy?  Mhmmm right.  It seems like Florida has a disturbing trend of letting special education teachers get off with abuse quite easily.  If you remember the case of Windy Portillo abusing an Autistic student she was reinstated after a short timeDo you think this could be a problem in Florida?

A problem everywhere indeed. I told a friend that the Portillo incident took place in Florida and he said “oh, well then that kinda sucks cuz teachers in Florida get away with everything”.

Very said to read this article and have that truth confirmed. I hope now that with this incident and the one in Pennslyvania that this issue will start getting national attention by the media.

I say it’s a problem everywhere! Teachers, like their students, tend to look down on those students whom are different and don’t wish to change the fact.
