Yesterday I had the unique opportunity, one that you only get once in quite a few years. I had the opportunity to intercept an Amtrak train being powered by a very old antique steam engine. The Train is designated – SP4449.I first heard about SP4449 while I was in the hospital, it went through Kalamazoo on its way to Owosso, MI for a train festival. SP4449 is very unique as its been unfitted to operate safely according to the rules today, but its still a coal powered steam locomotive. Yesterday I heard it was on its way back to Chicago and I had to get a picture, and a picture I got. I only wish Kate and I could of seen it together!
