Jennifer Robbins is suing Indianapolis, IN public schools after she found her autistic son Hudson tied to a chair. According to Robins her son was tied to a chair with a belt and it “was wrapped around and tied twice in a double knot.” when she arrived for a confernece at the school. There was a teacher and two aides in the classroom at the time.
The school’s principal later appologized for the incident and the special education director states that the aide who belted the student to the chair made a poor decision and has been properly punished.
The family’s lawyer said “People need to be aware that these things happen in classrooms, and it needs to stop” after filing the suit in court Wednesday. Hudson no longer attends school.
