Famous With Autism

by admin on December 28, 2008

There are many individuals with Autism Disorders which have reached quite a level of fame, some because they were quite successful – others because they were huge advocates – and others because of terrible things they did.  Its important to remember all of these people – even if they had a negative impact on the perception of Autism as these people have or are shaping how we are being shaped today.

montana,
albert einstein, andy warhall & emily dickinson all had it as well.
I’ve been doing quite a bit of research on the subject of aspergers to gain a full understanding of my own situation.
we dont have a mental disability we simply think different.
saying we have a mental condition is like saying people who have different interests or live a different life is retarted.
I’m smarter than most people I meet but because I have trouble comunicating my thoughts, people assume theres something wrong with me. I think people like that are retarted because they dont have the ability to have an open mind & refuse to even acknowledge the fact that we are no different than them.

The guy who invented pokeman had aspergers? That’s awesome! Well there you go zack, I think you should turn this whole situation with you and Kate into a video game. The inconspicuous enemy enters the kingdom and slyly deceives and imprisons the prince and princess and all the court…and all hell breaks loose. Finally the prince, robed in white, from a far away land comes and redeems everyone. Okay, so maybe that sounds a little more like a mix between Lord of the Rings and Mario Brothers, but in my sleep-deprived mind it’s an amazing idea. You could be rich!

i am sorry Montana..i think you need to read more about mental disorders..there are so many people that may “LOOK” or “ACT” “NORMAL” or what some people call normal..people w/ disablities need more understanding..until someone was raised a child or walked in the shoes of a “MENTAL” disorder person shoes they cannot know what a person is capable of w/ proper diagnosis..lets not forget the ones who really need the help..so maybe someday they came be a functional person in this screwed up world we have made for ourselves..
PLEASE SUPPORT THE FIGHT AGAINST AUTISM, MS, LUPUS, CANCER,..and many other medical problems..
BLESSED BE….
Sincerely
a”mental person from OHIO

Deborah– UGH! I think it’s you that needs to read more about autism… WP is a good source. So are all the other sites run by Aspies for Aspies. I recommend Aspies For Freedom.

Zach, what black licorice said is a good idea, tho I was thinking more in terms of you and Kate writing a book to warn people of the similar nightmares that people suffer in silence every day all over the world, and to warn people about this scandal. Please keep Julia; I can tell you and Kate love her so much and you two gave me a new appreciation for my boy and my man (my boy is 1 year, 4 months old).

I’m happy that articles like these exist. A lot of people think that people with Asperger have to be retarded or something similar.
” But she look normal” that’s what people tell me everytime I say that I have Asperger.
It’s good that people get the fact that we can do lots of things.

There are WAY more people with AS than that that are famous… over 100 at least. There is a large list somewhere, but I forget where.

Ladyhawke (Pip brown) a NZ singer she is really famous and she has Aspergers and Gary Numan… Anyone with Aspergers can do anything as long as we put our mind into it and our hearts
