You may remember Port St. Lucie, FL teacher Wendy Portillo who was suspended for having her class vote on kicking five year old autistic student Alex Barton out of class. Well as of this Wednesday the school board reversed its decision.

According to the Associated Press:
The St. Lucie County school board reversed its earlier decision Wednesday to suspend Wendy Portillo for a year without pay and remove her tenure. Dozens of parents and teachers spoke in support of Portillo at a 90-minute hearing.
Alex Barton
In my opinion this is extremely bad news. How can parents vote in support of humiliation of a student due to a disability. When does it become acceptable that students with disabilities may be bullied by teachers? Not only was her employment re-instated, but so was her tenure!
