Poem That Describes Aspergers

Here is a great poem that described Aspergers Syndrome.  Its called ‘Alone’ and it was wrote by Edward Alan Poe.  I found this poem while I was watching an old episode of SeaQuest DSV.

From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.

Poe’s writings and poetry offer an insight into our lives. Most people see horror, I see a mind that offers guidance. See “The Sphinx” http://classiclit.about.com/library/bl-etexts/eapoe/bl-eapoe-sphinx.htm

Also, you should include the rest of the poem.

I also found that poem to have insight into my world. I found it when I was in high school and it made me feel less alone somehow.
