Florida Works on Autism Insurance and Healthcare Bill

It looks like the state of Florida is working on an Autism Insurance and Healthcare bill – and it appears very hopeful. Read more for excerpts from the state government website and the what the bill will get Autistic families in Florida.

Creates the “Window of Opportunity Act.” Authorizes the AHCA to seek federal approval through a state plan amendment to provide home and community-based services for autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Creates the “Steven A. Geller Autism Coverage Act.” Provides health insurance coverage and coverage under a health maintenance contract for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, etc
