Well it appears the story of Alex Barton an autistic child voted out of his kindergarten class by a vote initiated by his teacher has got the attention of the Florida Attorney General’s office, and they now want to hear from Autistic Individuals and their parents in the State of Florida.
The Florida Attorney General’s office is attempting to find out if the issues are ‘on a more global scale’ and to see if there is an underlying problem according to an article in the TC Palm.
If you would like to speak to them regarding this issue give them a call at 1 (866) 966-7226

hi my names is thuy ho, and i also live in florida. my son had his shots at 13 months and shortly after that started to get sick and ended up in the hospital by the age of 15 months was stated that he had mal nutrition and anmeia. i couldnt understand why all these problem occurred when my son is a very healthy boy and also in the high percentile growth range. please help me.
I contacted the Florida Attorney General’s office and was told they were gathering information about abuse and seclusion of Exceptional Education Students in public schools. I was also told they have NO authority over FLDOE and the best they could do was urge and advise. When I finally spoke to the person who was to take my “testimony” I was told they would be represented at a local conference last month in Orlando, the 100 Ideas Conference. When I asked about them at the conference I was told by a conference organizer that the ideas that came from the break out session on abuse and seclusion would be given to the Attorney General’s office. Apparently they were too busy to attend the conference. Am not sure what came out of the break out since I attended the session on reforming our Exceptional Student Education. Am equally unsure of how much, if any, of the input went to the Florida Attorney General’s office or what exactly they have the authority to do.
