People who murder PWD's should be punished exactly like anyone else. If we call lack of services mitigating circumstance, then in the minds of those who say services are not needed we are saying disability itself is mitigating circumstance. Do we not deserve the equal protection of the laws? Then our murderers deserve the equal condemnation of society, and until they receive it, you cannot look and not say "oppression." Quite a commentary on the lack of a mental health support system in the USA for people with mental health issues! How many stories have there been in the news in the last 10 years about people with schizophrenia killing family members in our country??? There's just no help for them. They are the next big group of people who need to be recognized and supported by society!
