I could be being harsh, but I really don't think so. If they really wanted to help us, they would be creating programs with all that money to help us become more apart of our communities and help us work on the areas we on the spectrum have trouble. With all that money they could be funding things such as programs focussing on transition, employment, better education, help for families who need financial aid when paying for evidence based therapys for thier kids. That is what I would call REAL help. They do none of these things. They only use the money in seeking thier "cure" using scare tatics, fear, and derogatory language towards those on the spectrum. We are both victims and a burden to them. We are this demon thing called autism, not people to them. I have to deal with them due to my line of work. I don't like it. And so reading things like this give me great pleasure.
