Stacy Lore, creator of ‘Spectrum Kids’ is being accused of scamming Norwalk Public Schools with false credentials, and charging up to rates of up to $125 and fees for academic assessments of $1,500, falsely claiming Florida Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the school didn’t find out about it – parents did.
According to The New Haven Advocate Lore claimed to have a New York University Ph.D. in “Behavior Analysis” as well as being a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) which is issued by the Florida-based Behavior Analyst Certification Board to those with 225 hours of college classes and prior experience in the Behavior Analyst field.
According to parents they became suspicious when actual therapists contracted by Lore’s company Spectrum kids started canceling appointments do to non-payment, and therapists contracted the company were expresisng alarm to parents when Lore was driving a brand new vehicle and their checks were bouncing.
So the parents began to check into Lore’s background, and found out shes not board certified, nor does she hold PHD from any New York University – and discovered they were being scammed. Parents are now claiming that their children are worse then before Lore took over the learners with Autism program at Norwalk Public schools.
I guess I have to bring up this question, why did the school not check into her background? Did the school even run a background check or did they just blindly hire someone?
