It’s completely pointless as well, because there are a good percentage of (shock, horror) real life aspies who are dating or married to NTs! Who’d have thought it eh, Hollywood directors? Strange isn’t it, how these cute, funny little people can actually have a relationship of their own with people who aren’t even their sort!

Yes. Cute and funny. That’s how they’re going to portray us. Why do I have a problem with that? Because I’m a person, not a newborn kitten. Kittens are cute and funny, teenage and adult aspie humans are normally not.

Also, who else can tell that they’ll portray this guy as an ‘idiot savant’? What’s the bet he’ll spend half the film quoting random bits of physics, can’t understand jokes or sarcasm AT ALL, still lives with his parents, is a 100% ‘nice’ man who never does anything wrong or says anything rude, only listens to classical music and has learnt no social skills at all despite being well into his twenties or thirties- and I mean none. Trust me, this guy won’t even know why it isn’t a good idea to go up to strangers and ask them Why They’re So Fat.

If I watch this film, it’ll be out of morbid curiosity.

Essentially drawing attention to our supposed defecits by drawing attention to normality whilst pointing out the difference at the same time.

Whilst I will not vouch for my own romantic engagements cos romantic I am not, I will say in my experience the existence of aspie couples and indeed couples where one is aspie and another is not, is not really exceptional at all and certainly not worth the Hollywood treatment which I regard essentially as insult and degredation as if it were a nineteenth century missionary writing about the mating rituals of some obscure (and from there perspective bizarre) African tribe.

Well maybe you could call it sour grapes, I may have a seventies porn star tache, but I doubt if I am ever going to be cast in any movie in the raunchy scenes
