Valentines day is coming up around the corner and as those of us with Aspergers that are in relationships are starting to realize – its a daunting time of year, so many choices. In part 1 of this series I’m going to show some great gift ideas for those relationships that involve someone on the spectrum.
Love Books:
There are several relationship books out there that can be of particular help to those in a relationship that involves Aspergers. World renowned author Tony Attwood and others have writen many books on the topic. While I have not read any of these books I have heard high praise of them.

- Some more ideas you can use are writing your own poem for your significant other. Many people with Aspergers are very good linguistically so this can end up being a very lovely idea.
- List as many reasons as you can on why you love the person. People with Aspergers like clear, factual things they can see – so they will love this.

I’m planning on giving two things, one some flowers, she’s been hinting (as in hitting me over the head with a sledgehammer kind of hinting) that she wants fresh cut flowers for some time now (as in since we started dating several years ago now.)
The other thing is time. As much as it’s going to hurt to do so, I’m planning on staying off the computer all day. She knows how much I enjoy (and NEED) my computer time so it’s something special.
