Aspergers Gift Ideas

So with the holidays coming up many people are going to go Christmas shopping – and as most people know people with Aspergers always are very interested in at least one topic, but there are also some other things you can get to help people with Aspergers day-to-day.  I started this list to hopefully help people shop for people with Aspergers Syndrome – feel free to add to it by adding a comment and I will add you to the main list as well.

  1. Weighted Blankets – Many people don’t know this about people with Aspergers but weighted blankets are a huge thing to help with being overwhelmed and stressed.  I’m not sure of a good location to buy weighted blankets as I don’t own one – but I’ve always wanted one.
  2. LED Light Bulbs – As many of you know a lot of people with Aspergers do not like fluorescent lighting and with the sale of incandescent bulbs being banned soon in the USA buying your Aspie LED light bulbs can be a huge thing for them.  Right now they are pretty easy to get off online retailers and eBay.
  3. Friendship and Encouragement - The holidays can be rough for many people – putting up with the in-laws, the drama, but for people with Autism the gobs of people can make it extremely overwhelming – sometimes just friendship and encouragement during times like that is an extremely helpful thing.

http://www.weightedblanket.net has a large selection of weighted blankets, and a lot of information on them.
