People with Aspergers Syndrome often have a lot of problems with Anxiety, including panic and anxiety attacks.  There are many ways to cope with Anxietybut seeing as I am trying to increase the user interaction levels on this website I think I will let you all lead the discussion on this using the comments.

What ways do you have of coping with anxiety?  Would you consider it a healthy or unhealthy way of coping?

1: I try and write down my worries and then either ask some online friends on a parenting forum, or I might email my husband or if I can I’ll talk directly to him about them.

2: I try and take control of the situation as much as I can, eg finding out timetables and destinations.

3: If like me you hyperfocus on things so that is almost or even all you can think about, then it helps if you are anxious about something to try and break it down into smaller aspects to work towards.

4: I use distraction techniques, eg writing, reading.
