Barton claims to be suing in order to create a better environment for students with disabilities, saying “I want change for Florida. I want change for the United States, the education system. I want rules and laws to be enforced that are already in place and I want new ones, legislation that works,” Barton said. “And I look forward to obtaining that someday — maybe not tomorrow, but it will happen.

Barton’s attorney Paul Sopp said, “This case is to enforce a student with disabilities civil rights to receive fair and equal treatment in the school system that other students without disabilities receive on a daily basis”

For those that don’t remember back in 2008 Alex Barton’s teacher, Windy Portillo initiated a classroom vote which resulted in Alex Barton being voted out of class.  Portillo claims she wishes she could take bake that morning after being suspended for one year and has since been re-instated.

Do you think much of a change will happen because of this lawsuit?

Why doesnt anyone ever pick a fight with people like me? I will fight anyone right here in Port St Lucie shit I will fight anyone who wants a fight. I was raised to fight anyone who disagrees with me in my household so I think whoever wants some can get some.
